A Little History
ANDIAL is a name synonymous with Porsche and victory. The company was formed in Santa Ana, CA in 1974 by three German-born men: Alwin Springer, Dieter lnzenhofer and Arnold Wagner. The name is formed by the initial two letters of their Christian names, Arnold, Dieter and Alwin, but was changed from Ardial to Andial in the planning stage simply because the ‘n’ gave it a better sound. As its founders eventually retired and the company focused on smaller specialty projects, its relationship with Porsche stayed strong. In early 2013, it was announced that the Porsche Motorsports North America, Inc. (PMNA) had purchased the brand. ANDIAL announced in 2013 it would build just five of a new race car crafted on Porsche’s successful Type 997-derived GT3 Cup car.The owners of the five ANDIAL cars commissioned Gunnar Racing to paint their cars in homage to five of the most famous race cars from the 1980s.
