A Little History
Ettore Bugatti was from a family of artists and considered himself to be an artist. Consequently, Bugatti cars were famed for their design beauty and for their many race victories. Famous Bugattis include the Type 35 Grand Prix cars, the Type 41 “Royale,” the Type 57 “Atlantic” and the Type 55 sports car. Only 450 Bugatti Veyrons were produced in a span of over 10 years. This car is one of only 44 produced in 2006. After winning “Best Car Driven All Year” from Top Gear in 2005 and “Car of the Decade” award from Top Gear in 2010, the Veyron, as of 2013, also holds the title of “world’s fastest production car. Top speed mode must be entered while the vehicle is at rest. Its driver must toggle a special top speed key to the left of their seat, which triggers a checklist to establish whether the car and its driver are ready to attempt to reach 253 mph.
