A Little History
This 1967 Nova is a perfect example of a Hot Rod. A Hot Rod is an American car, mid-century or older, that has been built specifically for its speed, rather than its looks. Most of this car’s customizations are in its drivetrain. Its most obvious exterior transformation is the addition of the exposed Blower Shop blower. It also has lifted front and rear suspensions to make room for the 18″ front and 20″ rear Billet Specialties wheels.
The interior of this car has been equipped to handle its drag racing intentions. It has a custom, brush-finished, aluminum center console, fit with two Auto-meter gauges and a custom emergency brake. The builder actually retained the original speedometer and fuel gauges. He added Auto-meter gauges to the top of the dash in order for the driver to easily keep his eyes on the road while racing. The modifications to the interior of this car are all business, and are only there to help the driver during races. Hardly any of these customizations were added for aesthetic appeal.

Like the 1969 Chevrolet ‘Mule,’ also on display, the tachometer has a small attachment that lights up when it’s time to upshift.
Believe it or not, this car is actually very difficult to steer because it was built to go as fast as possible down a straight quarter-mile.
