Based on the road-going but already extremely track-worthy Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup has been dubbed the most successful racing car on Earth by virtue of its massive success as a customer race car around the world. The first Porsche GT3 Cup was introduced in 2001 to race in the inaugural Porsche Carrera Cup series featuring factory-built racing Porsches finished to identical specifications. The Porsche Carrera Cup Championship was a hit with European racing fans, quickly becoming one of the most competitive, high-profile, single-make series in the world.
This GT3 Cup car features the same naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-6 engine used in the GT3 RS with 450 HP and an 8,500 RPM redline, a Hollinger sequential 6-speed gearbox and a much improved overall package including adjustable anti-roll bars, composite cast disc brakes with ABS, and a larger fuel tank with front filler. This beautiful and vary rare second-generation 911 GT3 Cup was raced in the German Carrera Cup Series for a year before going to a well-known international race team, who raced it in the Porsche Carrera Cup Championship throughout Europe. This car was the official factory race car campaigned in the German Carrera Cup Series for 2012 and is currently wrapped in the Michelin livery and has recently run at Sebring International Raceway.
