Seminar: Automotive Genealogy - Researching and Documenting Your Car’s History Presented by Dan L.

Automotive historian and researcher Dan L. will join our CEO Donald Osborne for an exciting conversation titled: Automotive Genealogy- Researching and Documenting your Car’s History, where they will discuss his experience in how to approach a study of your car’s history and the resources he has used- some straightforward, some less obvious- and offer tips and cautions along the research path.  Dan will also explain by example how he has applied his approach to research and document the history from day one to the present of a collector car he owns.

Dan L. is a lifelong auto enthusiast, restorer, and historian. Starting in his early teens, he has been modifying, restoring and, maybe more significantly, documenting the cars he owned, first by collecting literature like sales catalogs, service records and receipts, and later by saving purchase and sale agreements, owner and service manuals, books, and even expired registration slips and insurance cards through his period of ownership, developing a portfolio for each vehicle.  As he graduated into restoring 1955-57 Chevrolets, he pursued the study of available manufacturer design and engineering information, factory assembly line photos, service bulletins, assembly manuals, part numbers and date codes to promote authenticity of the cars he restored.
