2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1

  • Watts to Freedom mode unleashes the full power 3-seconds sprint to 60 mph.

  • All-wheel steering allows for the CRABWALK™ to navigate tight parallel parking or off-road obstacles.

  • Super Cruise - Like some Cadillac models, the Hummer EV also features the latest version of General Motors’ Super Cruise technology, which combines adaptive cruise control, lane-centering, and automatic lane change features into a hands-free highway driving experience.

The Hummer EV convertible pickup, with a 1000-hp challenges perceptions of EVs—for better or worse. An intentional response to the “EVs are for wimps” crowd. GMC clearly wanted to make a splash while entering the EV truck market with Hummer. It’s a loud start that will trickle down to building more reasonable and practical electric trucks. But for now, they have got our attention.

Obscenely heavy at 9640 pounds, it is also one of the quickest pickup trucks ever, hitting 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and clearing the quarter-mile in 11.9 seconds at 106 mph,  accomplished using Watts to Freedom (WTF) launch mode, which requires two taps of the stability control button and a confirmation on the steering wheel, after which the truck lowers its suspension and readies its cooling system.

Leave plenty of room to stop as it is even a longer stop than many heavy-duty trucks, requiring 211 ft from 70mph, and 504 ft from 100mph. Handling is great with its counter-steering rear end, making it agile with a remarkable 37 ft turning circle, better than many cars. The 75 mph highway range is stated as 290 miles. Not too shabby.
